Working towards Paradise!

Added weed barrier and cage last night. The mulberries got hammered over night. But should pull through.

Haven't done much in the woods this week. But have a 4 day weekend and we are having a "Florida" cold snap so hopefully we see some day time movement.

A week before the end of the season i went out to check cameras and to kind of pack up for the season. A that this buck was coming in first thing in the morning the past week. 1-8-18.jpg

So i went out the next 3 morning and harvested him on Wednesday 1-17 4 days before the season ended.

Another friend who has a small hobby farm called and asked if i could clean some potbelly pigs for her because the normal guy was busy. So i went by and picked them up and quarter them and she came and picked them up. About 3 days later she called and asked told me there was a large 200+ lb hog trying to get in with her pigs and wanted me to trap it. She sent me some pics and it looked larger than 300lbs. I told her i could setup a trap but it would be better if she would just call me when it shows up and i would come over a shoot it. She put some corn out and called me 2 days later right abt dark and said the pig is here and in my yard....i ran over and was abt to take care of the problems. The hog ended up weight 405lbs and my 300bkout Maker Bullet dropped it in less than 5 steps. The ammo came from Fancy Brass a local ammo company and who loads all my hunting rounds. https://fancybrassco.com/hog.jpg

I have been building a turbo Diesel Jeep and have been crazy busy this year with work. Jeeps.jpg

Abt a month ago i shot a hit list buck that was chasing a doe. Never really watch a buck chase a doe, they were messing around before i got there cause i have pics of them passing the camera and she blew at me when i was climbing up into the stand. Lucky for me she kept him around till i could get a shot after daylight.

It looks like working towards paradise has arrived;you have lots of nice critters there. I had never thought of Florida as a good deer hunting spot but you definitely have one there.

It coming together. I have shot a good hit list buck the last 3 yrs and seeing lots more deer staying on the property. Feeders, minerals and food plots year round has really helped and controlling what gets shot and how many each year has helped as well.hit list bucks.jpg

Turkey season is about a month out here in Florida and they are already working the hens.

Thats a long legged bobcat. Looks a bit lean with no belly to speak of. Maybe I feed mine too well. Have you ever gotten a pic of a FL panther that exist in some areas down there? Bears in your area? I just got back from Ft Myers and they def have the bears. Cool pics thanks for showing.

[QUOTE="dogghr,[/QUOTE] no panthers on camera but lots of bears. I have a couple sows that have cubs each year i fine some pics and post them. We have seen panthers in the area but no pics as of yet.
