    New plot, plot expansion, planting

I hired a guy this summer to come in with his excavator and skid steer to clear out the trees and stumps from a plot I expanded. It sits 10 yards from my swamp. He also cleared an area for a new plot near the swamp. I planted these two, plus a third plot with purple topo turnips, groundhog...

Northern NY 175 acre swamp property

In 2020, my stepson and I purchased this property. We initially bought 155 acres from a guy going through a divorce, for the price of $30,000. The total acreage of the swamp is 800 acres. Our property is bordered by ag fields and woods, so we approached the farmer who owns the fields and woods...

Not sure where I’m going wrong on uploading pics

I hit upload a file, choose file, the pic appears, but when I hit close, the pic doesn’t appear in the post. I just signed up for flickr and I can put a link to the pic, but the actual pic doesn’t appear. Where am I going wrong? Thanks in advance.

    Staghorn sumac

I’ve got some sumac growing on a hillside near my house. I want to establish a thicket in one of my fields and I was wondering if anyone has done this? What the best way? Cuttings? Dig up and transplant? Any advice from someone who has done it would be appreciated!

    ID please

This stuff has really popped up in a couple of my brassica plots. With the hot dry weather this summer, weeds have really become a problem. The 50 acres of soybeans on my property have lots of weeds and the farmer usually has weed free crops. Can anyone name this for me?

    Alaska

My wife and I are currently touring Alaska and having a great time. Today in Denali we saw 16 moose, 2 were huge studs. This smaller guy was hoping to get lucky, but the cow ran off.

    Brassica issue

I planted these brassicas on July 13th, and I noticed today they have holes in them. This is a first year plot which was soil tested and fertilized accordingly. Does anyone know what the cause is?

    Luna's Tracking Journal 2016

Luna is a 2 year old female Wirehaired Dashchund. I got her when she was 13 months old, and last year was our first tracking season......she recovered 11 deer and 2 bears. After a successful track I allow Luna to chew on the animal as her reward, I also ask the hunter to cut her a small piece of...

    God's Little Acre Land Tour

I had this thread going at QDMA but decided to start it over here. This will be a slow process as I'm pretty busy right now. My wife and I own a 120 acre farm in NY, on the Canadian border. We hear a train at our house, and it's Canadian.....that's how close we are. I'll start off with one of...
