Does anyone know what parts that I need in order to switch my planter from corn to soybeans?
This is my planter that I got two years ago from RDH Outdoors and want to plant a few fields of soybeans with it for the first time this spring.
Its a John Deere 7100 Max-Emerge with Plate-less...
It’s been a while since I’ve been on and updated how my hunting season has gone so far.
I did end up finally taking a plunge on a hunting blind and I went with the Grizzly Coolers blind. Super impressed with this blind so far. Haven’t found anything about it that I dislike.
Here is the base...
Corn has really taken off this week with all the rain we’ve gotten and the humidity that’s moved in from the hurricanes. I even have a few stalks that have tasseled out already.
Tractor Supply just recently jacked the prices up on their Farmworks brand of glyphosate to $74.99 for 2.5 gallons. I bought the same stuff this spring for $39.99.
Weird thing is the Roundup Powermax price that they offer hasn't changed any. Must be simply supply and demand.
Here is how my first attempt with my new planter is going 55 days in. Really impressed with this planter as the ground was very hard and dry at planting time. Didn’t expect to have this much germination with so many rocks.
Hoping the next 30 days it really takes off.
If you're using Lithium batteries then that is why it's showing 100% all the time. One of the reasons I don't use them in my cell cams anymore is they will show 100% until they show 0%.
High quality alkaline batteries are the way to go IME.
Two things I would mention that I learned the hard way.
For starting out new plots that were created in the timber I would plant strictly buckwheat for at least one year before trying anything else. Especially if your PH levels are way off. You can possibly get three plantings in on one year...
I only use a foliar fertilizer when spraying my clover plots and I combine them with clethodim, butyrac and surfactant.
I use the Nutra Tender which I get from Keystone Pest Solutions and is a 5-5-10. I've had very good results with it...
The gypsy moths are bad this year and have started eating the leaves on my apple trees. Was wondering what insecticide I should be using for controlling them?
If you replace the no-till coulters with row cleaners can you still no-till plant?
I was planning on doing the fertilizer hopper extension but forgot to ask Ryan at RDH Outdoors to do it for me. I’ll have to pick one up for it.
Shipping said it was 1200 lbs on the pallet. It felt like all of that when I had to take it out of the back of the truck. Plus you can put almost 400 lbs of fertilizer in the hopper as well.
I bet you wouldn’t have any issue getting through the year old corn stalks.
Got my new planter delivered yesterday!
Rdh Outdoors did a great job on the planter. This thing will last me a lifetime more than likely.
I got two of my fields planted yesterday and have one more to do tonight or tomorrow. It did better than expected even on my rocky ground with the no...
With the cost of the Cuddelink system I can run at least 8 Tactacam Reveal cams.
The Reveals are truly an amazing camera for the price. Even if they weren't cell enabled they would still be one of the top game cameras.
The Tactacam Reveal, and Reveal X's simply cannot be beat for the price from my experience.
I currently have 8 of each and they work as well if not better than cameras that cost 4 times as much.
IF you can find some you won't be disappointed.
