Definitely ready for the flood part of the rotation here. It has been a LONG time.

Had a slow evening, so I looked through our property journal, the clover plots we used to be able to grow a short 4 or 5 years ago seem like ages past. We’re desperately hoping this year is different.

Got some good news I wasn’t expecting at the Massey today! Also found some morels about a week too late. I marked the locations though and will get an earlier start next year.

Good news, tells you how tough these trees are, I did nearly EVERYTHING wrong and voila!

Yesterday the streak ended at 667 days. 2.15” at the farm!!

667 days and the streak is broken — 2.15” at the Massey!!! So thankful for some real run-off. This is the price I happily paid…

Yesterday it was all west of us, this is today. Depressing…. We’ve experienced years of not at this point.

We have some friends who raise rabbits, we throw the droppings on the garden and some smaller foodplots too.

Don’t look now, but beginning to contemplate tree watering again. The early spring rains have been minimal showers. We’ve missed to the south, north, and today to the west. Today makes 660 days without a 2” rain.

I SO miss the days of seeing clover peek up through the cereals. Droughts suck! That said, YOUR pic looks great!

I forgot to include a pic of our back plot. The rye/wheat looks great, but once again, it appears the drought did a number on the clover/chicory. It’s early yet, but I see nothing whatsoever underneath the cereals besides some henbit.

A little iffy on the green already…:oops: We’ll see I guess.
