Food plot preparation

Well I have all my seed for my fall plots. I am going with the green cover seed fall release blend which I am going to add 50lbs of soybeans to, as well as add 50-100 more pounds of rye the last week of September. My plot is planted in the summer release blend with a pretty good stand of milo. My plan is to bushhog strips through the milo after broadcasting seed and roll it after, leaving some of the milo standing with the seed broadcasted in. Here is the plot

I was going to wait until Labor Day or so to plant this blend but see this In the forecast

So would you go now? Or wait until around Labor Day to plant? Any modifications you would make to this plan?

Man, I'm torn on that. I really like that summer release. If the deer haven't browsed all the good stuff out of it, I might let the whole thing go. I've never planted those blends, so I'm not much help. Absent another opinion, hedge your bet and split your planting dates.

I would get some more goodie out of the summer mix and put the fall mix in closer to October

Thats what I’m doing, one acre at a time every week for the next few weekends. It’s been such a dry year and when they call for rain it doesn’t come and other times storms pop up out of no where.

Do post updates. I am curious to see how these blends work with TnM. I don't have a no-till drill like they always suggest, so if it is a viable option I would love to try it.
