My Central Ky Habitat Addiction

How do you the pioneer? Any regrets? 700 or 1000?

I have a 700 4 seater/bed and a 1000 3 seater and they are awesome. The cab does get slightly hot but they have not let me down!! The convertible 4 seater is awesome for us as I can convert it to a tilt bed when I want it.

Was the space and power worth the extra coin with the 1000? I've test driven both and was more inclined towards the 700 4 seater for nimbler size and adequate power. My one hesitation has been the absence of a low range (we have a couple very steep grades).

Honestly no - i had a 700 2 seater with a bed but it was stolen so i went with the upgrade. Power steering and tilt is nice but really not worth the added money. We end up taking the 700 more often as its more fun - it is louder then the 1000 and the 1000 will hit 55 on the road so when we go to "town" we take that one!

The Pioneer is perfect for my situation.

It allows me to use it the 90% I work around the farm unlike other 4 seaters but when the family is down I throw the seats up and spend time with them. I had been holding out for the last few years bc nothing really fit what I wanted but the Pioneer does. 1000cc sounds nice but wasn't worth the $$ to me. I think I paid around 11,500 for mine and the 1000 was around 15,000

Well there's been a ton of really nice bucks shot today and I don't have any of those to post but my oldest son Easton got his first deer with a .243. I admittedly hadn't completely prepared him but Mike Lowe, my hunting buddy, insisted on taking him out with him tonight and giving him a chance while i hunted alone and he sealed the deal !! Thanks Mike.

They will never forget their 1st deer and neither will you. Love to see kids with big smiles in the outdoors! Good stuff.

Thanks guys, he was very very excited no doubt !!!!

Mike got him a buck yesterday. Another oddity at the farm

Mike and my sons

And this morning another kid from Louisville got his first deer. This is becoming a common occasion at my place

We had a jerky making party today.

My brother hasn't hunted much and the boys wanted to hunt so he took his oldest & my oldest to the stand. 15 minutes later he got this guy. The kiddos were pretty stoked !!

You get an A+ for teaching your kiddos the joys of the outdoors. I especially liked seeing them planting the sawtooth with you. First deer make life long memories. I believe in the saying - If you hunt with the boy, you want have to hunt for him.

Your lodge and farm are a showcase! Thanks for sharing your journey with all of us. How far do you live from Caneyville? I had my deer processed there that I harvested in Jetson, KY East of Morgantown.
