If they are Evans, they make the absolutley best cherry pie I have ever eaten. I miss them. My Grandmother had a very old tree in her yard when I was growing up. The area was mowed often so it never put out any runners. It finally died from internal rot. I think of that tree every time I eat cherry pie.

We have 9 cups of cherries pitted and frozen, so a cherry pie might be in the future. These cherries made the best jam I have ever tasted!

Do you have any Ozark chinquapin growing that aren't being grafted? Just wondering how they are doing? I want to grow some.

All I have are the grafts, I will have scions in two years. Do you have chestnut trees to graft scions too?

Good to see all the strides being made at the brushpile. You get any extra suckers off the cherry tree and I know where to put them!!!

I have never seen weeds like there are in this area and have actually used a chainsaw to cut some down! This is a Gaint Ragweed stem next to my size 10. With weeds like this I need 6' x 6' weed mats.

These Elderberries were plant last Spring through black plastic, and survived drought. This Spring the plastic was removed so that the plants can sucker.

This is A/C that wbpdeer/Wayne started in his greenhouse and we planted together this Spring. This A/C has a 6' x 6' weed mat, and notice the giant ragweed growing along the edge. Thanks Wayne.

Rain has finally returned and the growth rate is phenomenal! This is an Ozark Chinkapin graft that has grown over two feet. I held an orange flag near the top of the growth.

Wild grapes smother! There's a Pear tree under there!


This is a hybrid oak from Morse Nursery that I planted in 2008... it's almost 5 feet tall, only cost about $10.

The drought has ended so shade producing trees are being killed and left standing so that Sun can reach other trees that were planted along the edge of Lumite.

Gosh - everything is exploding. What a long drought and it is super to see the rainfall turn everything green.

Bet it makes you smile to see the Brushpile totally alive. Now maybe some deer will set up on the brushpile as their sanctuary.
