The Brushpile

Brush...keep swinging the bat brother! Last year was the only year since owning my farm that I've dealt with drought. It was disheartening. Following your thread for so many years, I can only guess as to the frustration of dealing with lack of rain each year. We've been blessed with above normal rain all summer and for that I'm thankful. Always enjoy catching up on the Brushpile!

So glad you are getting a good rain. You are north of Springfield, right?
Yes I'm about 15 miles North of Springfield, MO. Sounds like I got some rain, but my wife said it wasn't much, and it's dry here now! The ponds and rivers are way down. With deer season opening in 6 weeks I'm hoping for soil moisture for tracking.

Been fishing and battery is recharged. :) Pics to follow.

Fished the Rum, St Croix and Mississippi Rivers in MN. I caught some nice Smallmouth.

This hoss was 18 inches and pulled the boat around!

For the last several years I have caught a Walleye, but was almost skunked until I caught this one walleye on the last day, and it was the last fish that I caught.

We didn't even get that...I broke my chisel plow trying to work ground because it is so hard and dry...

Really! People around here told me that they had been to Oklahoma and it was so green. I wondered about you and hoped you were green.

In fortunately we are sharing the same drought yet again! I at least have rain in the forecast for the weekend; I hope it materializes.

Congrats...looks like Kansas and Missouri got a heck of a rain...our chances keep going down...dry/dry!!!

Yesterday our forecast showed 82 degrees for today but now we are forecast 91...it is 90 and windy now...

Good deal. My 100% chance for rain tomorrow in NEMO has changed to 50%. Looks like it is all going south..

Yeah, I looked at your location and you're probably going to get missed again! With no rain habitat work is difficult, and it's like living on the moon!

I went to college in NEMO and never recalled a drought. One spring I planted a garden, left for the summer and had tomatoes, squash and peppers in the Fall! I tracked and found a 300+pound buck in NEMO, is it dry there now?

It's dry, but I wouldn't say drought. We have had timely rains the whole summer growing season. I planted brassica around the 22nd of July and had .7 the next day, and .25 since. I just was looking forward to a little rain on them today.

Hope you get the rain you need. It's to torrential down pour here and I'll take a flood!
