Blizzard Ridge
My name is Shayne Livvix. I was in business for 16 years as a pipeline contractor. Recently my wife and I bought a small market floral shop. After running it for approx. 1 year we leased a second location and began running a second shop in a different town. Last November I received a call from a farmer friend of mine saying that a large chunk of ground was going to be coming available for lease with new owners and they would like for me to have it when the purchase goes through. In March of 2016 that land transaction finally went through and we began to work on the hunting leases. I am not a wealthy guy so that sent me scrambling to figure out a way to come up with the money to lease this 20,000+ acres. If I didn't get the lease then an outfitter would end up with the leases and I couldn't have that when my family owns land that adjoins it and I know how they treated the land and resources in the past. Through some help with some great friends and the bank I was able to come up with the money to lease these properties in the hopes to preserve the resources upon them (esp. the whitetail deer). Yes I know some of you guys hate guys like me that lease up these big chunks of ground but let me tell you had I not leased this ground someone else would have and it would have got pounded until the deer especially buck population was non-existent. Believe me I am not a rich guy looking to get richer. My hopes is to just break even so my wife doesn't kill me for jumping into this with both feet. If I can make a small paycheck each year to pay for my time taking care of these properties, well that will just be a bonus. I am a hunter first and a hunt club owner second. I am looking forward to this new forum taking off and doing great things. Anything I can do please let me know.
