They make special paint for boundary marking that is designed to hold up. Make sure you scrape all loose bark off of the tree or the paint will fall off with the bark. Apply with a brush or small roller. They have come out with spray cans of boundary paint, but if you have a lot to do then...
Got hit pretty good here is Tallahassee. Lots of wind damage in the area. Luckily none of my family had any damage. Don't know when we will get power back. Got the generator running to keep the freezer going and to run some fans.

I have the same rut timing as you. Somewhere between Christmas and the first week of January. I have friends that hunt around Live Oak and theirs is late October. Florida has the most widespread rut timing across the state.
The only issue I have with that style stand is that with the single riser the cables come in tight on the rear half of the stand. Other than that, it is a great price.
I use the High Mountain Jerry seasoning. Instead of trying to cut everything to the same thickness I started using ground meat. Just mix the seasoning in and roll out to an even thickness. Put in the dehydrator until it is done.

If you have a good road/trail system a fat tire bike and a bicycle trailer might be something to look into. On the low end of the price range you could have the setup for around $250.
It is interesting to see the rut dates in this state. They range from August to February. Archery season where I hunt doesn't start until late October.
For those of you that just have the itch to get back after the deer, archery season starts in South Florida this weekend. Just put your favorite seasonings on your arrow and when you find your deer it will be ready to eat.
Someone I work with mentioned you could pick up surplus army tents for about the same price as the burlap and they last for 3 or 4 years. I am going to try to find a few to try this year.
