Any Minnesota guys looking to buy seedlings for 2017? I'd like to get some but I don't need 500.

I'd be interested. Where are you at in mn? I live in az but make it up to mn every spring and fall to work on my properties and deer hunt. I stay near wadena but my land is down by bertha. I come up the first 2 weeks in may usually to plant trees and put food plots in.

I have ordered from the MN State nursery for years, and have had great luck with the oaks, red and white pine and crab apples. I have been disappointed with their spruce the past couple of years. The hybrid poplar have been hit or miss depending on years. If you need someone else to help fill the order, I'd be interested in oak trees.
Spruce straight out of their box within a day of receiving. The follow-up on their customer service is lacking. 2nd time I had issues with quality being shipped with no response or fix:

Check out plug seedlings, there are two different options in MN. I planted 500+ of a variety of spruces from Itasca Greenhouse three years in a row and it went very good. I purchased a specialized tool to plant but there are guys out there using shovel handles or other things to make the hole for the tree. You can get different varieties of trees to add up to the 500 which gets you the lower price. Itasca had an ownership change and increased prices this past year, so haven't heard too much about the new owners yet.
