Hawggardville

Hope that Dunstan comes on back for you. Good production on the other trees. Looking forward to riding along.
I think it's gonna be ok. We had a grasshopper crop like they got in old testament times this year it seems. They stripped a pink lady apple, a few chestnuts, and several black locusts trees. Our turkeys should be happy at least.

Didn't get much done today did help Merle plant some of his chestnut trees and brought my biggest wbp Chinese chestnut I grew this year and planted it over 6 feet and still growing.

Still got my biggest buck hanging around on camera.

Wow, that chestnut has a straight stem, did you train it?
Yes, Chuck had a small pole in the pot when it was growing and if you look close you can see I placed a longer one next to it when we set it out today. On a side note Brush, I don't think I've ever dug a hole this time of year where we had moisture in the ground. I hope that helps the trees we're planting out now settle in and make it. I'd like to be bow hunting late next month and not planting and caging trees.

I also pinch any new growths when I see them at home. Since this one had made it 6ft plus I wasn't worried about it anymore but I like to start them off straight.

Great looking piece of land. You were right, the boys showed up. The big boy is a horse.
You guys have done some fantastic wildlife work.

It's pretty warm, but we got a little stand time in the last two days. Saw lots of wildlife, just no deer. Took a few pics and I'm sure nea will post a few of the game cam shots.

And I got a coyote on camera several times maybe I'll be lucky and see him when I'm in a stand.

When I saw that pic on the card check I was like this deer is playing with my emotions. Out in broad daylight when it was 85 degrees.

Hunted all day today with Merle. All together I saw 7 deer with for sure three different young bucks. The does its possible i could have seen more than once. Ended up seeing a groundhog and a bobcat to finish the day out.

Feels good for me to see that many deer in a day. I can remember a time where you got skunked more often then not and if you saw two or three deer on a all day sit you had something special and they were probably all does.

I still get skunked more then I like but I think we are heading in the right direction with our food plots and in 2-3 more years when these chestnuts and fruit trees really get going I anticipate great things.

Yup north east Arkansas close to the Missouri line. Can't tell you how many times I could see it raining in Missouri as it barely missed us.

Tree planting day at Hawggardville, or at least some of them. These are the last of the apples, chestnuts, and pines that Chuck grew at his house over the summer. 20161126_143623.jpeg
