Bear getting a fawn on camera I figured was a photo worth sharing you guys. Left all our fields and roads unmowed till this weekend to help the fawns live.

I too have witnessed a bear eating a fawn in the past, and I understand that nature takes its course, but to me it's still a disturbing sight. Bear season will bring a reckoning.
Been a while since I visited this site and the cabin. Giving the fruit trees some attention after mowing the clover fields. Did some hard spraying back in the spring to get weed problems under control and planted buck wheat in the total kill spray plots. The recent rain has got things looking good. The trees are still growing good except for the ones that were too wet from the ground springs. 100 trees planted the only ones that died were from over wet which is all my fault. 100% success other than 24 trees that I planted where it was too wet. I removed all the fruit this year again which I plan on being last year for that. Next year I’ll let them produce. Next month I’ll plant my fall plots and should be good to go.
It has been some time since I posted on this board and through the years there have been some really amazing Property Tours posted, but I just read all 25 pages of yours and I am absolutely stunned at your level of dedication to improving your land. While many of the pictures are no longer present there are enough to show what you have accomplished is amazing. Thumbs up to you!
After spraying this spring for the weeds and then planting buckwheat, we started crimping and drilling our fall blend today. I would liked to have done this a little earlier but schedule didn’t allow for it. Hopefully it turns out ok. Looks like rain tonight and then Monday.
