Tent caterpillars

I have a couple good size webs in what I believe is a persimmon tree that I released from an over sized gum tree. What are my choices to rid the tree of the web?
They are well out of normal reach too.

I think at this point in the year i would let them go unless they are going to defoliate the entire tree. Otherwise you are pretty much limited to spraying a stream from the ground of liquid sevin.

I use a small hand held sprayer filled with liquid sevin. Pump as much pressure and set the tip to a stream and spray the nest. If you can't reach it with the hand held go purchase a few cans if wasp spray. Wasp spray cans can reach up to 25 feet. A soaking with the wasp spray will knock the heck out of the worms and not harm your persimmons.
