House and Habitat build thread:

A goofy buck that I wouldn't mind seeing and a really high 9pt. His g3's are decently long!

A new cam (cheap Moultrie from Walmart, hope it lasts a season or two) on a water crossing. This is a part of the land that I absolutely love! It's remote, has plenty of wildlife, and moving water most of the yr.

Wrapping up my fall planting: 46 sawtooth, 5 persimmon, 9 chestnut, and 48 switchgrass plugs went into the ground today. Still have some trees to plant, some switch to seed, and a couple bags of native wildflower seed.

Dang Cat, when do you sleep? Nice bucks
Doesn't feel like I get to sleep much lately. If I get cranky enough the wife will make me get a good night's sleep or two.
Thanks on the bucks. Hope they like the changes I'm making!

I've hunted there a lot. The moving water has caused me to doze off more than once!
We've taken family pics there before (three generations worth). Everybody loves that spot!

Rub popped up next to the driveway over the weekend. Things are starting to happen...

Don't know if I recognize this guy, but he's keeping the rub post going! He spent a lot of time at it for a night.

This guy showed up on the "waterfall". I'm liking him more everytime I see him.

Picture perfect! Kind of wish I had a better cam set up in this spot!

Beans are almost all cut. The neighbor's corn has been cut for a couple of weeks. Acorns have mostly stopped dropping. Food plots will start to heat up soon.

I guess you guys have been wet. I cant believe there is anything left to harvest in KS. All but a cornfield here and there remain here. That waterfall buck certainly has some character, hopefully he isnt a fighter looks like he could bust something pretty easy.

Very wet yr. The beans are short season that were planted behind wheat. Rain, late wheat harvest, late planting, rain, etc... It all adds up.
That buck has a ton of characteristics that I love; width, tines length, and especially long brows! Very rare to have long brow tines here. The only thing i would rather have is a drop tine but not complaining. I hope that he is young and can put a lot of mass on in the next yr or two.

Great pics and update. Nice bucks and I agree on the running water. That is a blessing!
I have been in northern Va all week and the farmers are harvesting corn like crazy around here.

The wife didn't realize these things could crawl on walls. Kind of freaked her out a little to spot one at face level. :)
