Oak Trees

Does anyone have a good tree reference books for oak trees in South Louisiana? I have never found one that was really helpful.

Send "native" a pm and pick his brain. I'm not very familiar with trees of the south so I'm not much help - all I will say is that in general terms if you can identify it as an oak and specifically a member of the white or red family that is really about all you really need. You can get into specifics but it really boils down to if they produce annually(whites) or every other year(reds). Might consider talking to you DNR folks or local biologist as they may have some resources as well.
