Double A Farm (NE Ohio) Updates

Great thread. Place looks awesome. The bucks on my place love rubbing willows and they surprisingly will also forage on the leaves. Might not be the best but they still offer some good stuff.

Your place is just a story book. Great as usual.
Your plots are looking fantastic Weasel. Hope your deer season works out as good as everything else you've done so far!
Great looking plots....good luck this season!
Good stuff. I hope this forum stays up forever 'cause I may just copy your shower house one of these days. There is city water near my cabin area, but more than 1/4 mile away, that would be a lot of pipe, but might be worth it. I thought with that water and a tankless propane water heater I would be in business.

Thanks everyone. I'm thankful that I'm blessed enough to be able to do this and share in the knowledge and fun with you all.

Not a whole lot to report since I've been staying out of most of the farm this month. Archery season opens on Saturday and, as you can imagine, I'm itching to get in the stand. Weather calling for a 13 degree drop from Friday to Saturday and lows in the mid 40s this weekend. Could be a great weekend.

I noticed three new scrapes that popped up in the last week. It won't be long now.

I managed to get a little further on the bathroom addition. Got the walls all framed out. It's just about ready for plywood and siding.

Pretty straightforward but time consuming when you are ripping free 2x12x16s into dimensions that you need.

Stove pipe flashing showed up this week. I should be able to at least get the bathroom dried in this weekend.

I installed some gutter filters too, every little bit helps when you're catching rain water. I plan on adding a first flush diverter as well to divert the first few gallons of dirty water when the rain starts. Lots of great info here on setting up a rainwater cistern: Rainwater harvesting

That shower is going to feel nice after some mid summer habitat work. And maybe a deer drag.:)
Place looks great.

Great work you are doing up there in Ohio... Interesting on the scraping. I have found no rubs or scrapes but right now they would have to be next to my plot to see them as I am pretty well staying out of the backwoods (even though my plots are in the middle of the big woods)...

With those temperature drops and season starting then you need to make sure you have tap a talk installed on your phone so we can get a play by play with photo's from the stand in real time...

Shower looks great!

Only hunted a few times with the weather being warm the first few weeks of the season. It's starting to stay cool now finally.

Bathroom addition moving slowly along. Got a few more things accomplished. Hope to have it completed next trip and ready for siding.

The recycled metal tin will make a nice shower stall and wainscoting in the bathroom.

Also got the new propane heater and gas line installed. The heater has a thermostat and low oxygen sensor/shutoff. No more lost sleep to tend to a cold wood stove, this thing will kick on and keep the cabin cozy while I sleep through the night.

Deer are still on the clover, absolutely hammering it. Watched four does tonight walk by everything but the clover.

The farm is getting her autumn look on. Man do I love this time of year. Thank you Lord for blessing me with the means and the health to do this.

Been wanting to try "planting" some scrape trees in my food plots. My buddy Chris gave me a hand getting some in.

We kicked in some dirt spots under the licking branches and sprinkled the spots with Gatorade infused urine :D
